Description
Overflow tubes are teleporting tubes from Pipeworks mod, used to donate materials you don't need.
Everyone can get some for their projects if they configure tubes with the proper names and allow these to receive materials.
The format for those tubes is: mod.item_name, for example, default.cobble.
Hint: Copy from crafting guide and change ':' to '.'
Public Overflow Storage (POS)
There is a place maintained by SwissalpS for buffering public overflow contents.
The main goal is to have a receiver active to avoid your sender tubes from breaking.
Overflow of the overflow goes to channel '/dev/null'.
Most items are cached in unlocked chests for public access. Cobble is not available to public from chests.
Location: TODO
Under Fruitland. Between Public Workshop and the 'public mine' of Fruitland.
Due to its location, there are a lot of monsters spawning there. There are floors dedicated to hunters
and a lift to surface, Public Greenhouse and to Public Mine below -2k.
List
POS currently supports these channels:
- bonemeal.mulch
- default.cobble
- default.sand
- default.stone
- moreblocks.cobble_compressed
Public Overflow Generators (POG)
Some of the items supported by POS may not be coming in due to players no longer being online.
So SwissalpS has started linking locations that produce overflow from POS. This allows players to go activate a generator and then go back to POS to get the items.
To qualify as a POG your machine must:
- be in a protected area.
- not generate lag. Area is dedicated to this one generator
- tuned to not be excessive. The goal is to make some available not to keep players from creating their own.
- look ok and preferably offer some education. (don't hide functions)
- area is at least as safe as spawn for noobs
If you want your generator to be linked to POS, contact SwissalpS.
